Not long after Richard Park established the firm in Palo Alto in 1997, the firm began to grow when Dan Vaughan (1999) and Hoyt Fleming (2001) became partners. Richard Park and his team now work from the firm’s office in Davis, California. Dan Vaughan works from the firm’s office in Fremont, California; and Hoyt Fleming works from the firm’s office in Boise, Idaho. In 2010, Michael Dowler joined the firm and he formed the firm’s office in Houston, Texas.

Prior to forming the firm, we worked for many years in the world’s largest IP firms, including Arnold, White & Durkee; Howrey; Wilson Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati; and Winston & Strawn. All of our attorneys and agents have technical degrees, some are inventors, former in-house IP counsel, university professors, and federal law clerks, many are multi-lingual, and most have graduate degrees in engineering or computer science.

We believe the structure of our firm – in size, focus, expertise, and location – provides the most efficient and effective IP representation for our clients, including cost-effective and flexible fee arrangements particularized for each client’s needs.

Park, Vaughan, Fleming & Dowler LLP now includes more than 30 professionals, including attorneys, patent agents and support staff members. Our firm continues to recruit the most impeccably prepared professionals, according to the needs of our clients.
